We use the Norwalk cold press juicer! There are many reasons this juicer is considered the best on the market:
The Norwalk juice press first shreds the produce into a pulp, which is then hydraulically pressed. This process extracts more nutrients than any other technique, and because the process eliminates the heat associated with other types of juicers, it leaves the naturally occurring enzymes intact.
We get to pass on better value because we get more juice from less produce that we would with other juicers!
Cold pressing outshines other methods by not introducing or forcing air into the juice during juicing. This increases the longevity of the juice, and considered perfectly acceptable to bottle this juice for 2-4 days. Some juice extracts such as ginger can keep for up to a month in a sealed container.
What about the FIBRE?
Yes, it is true that fibre is pretty much the only part of the fruits and veggies we juice that is left over. Our juices do contain trace amounts of water soluble and non soluble fibre. We believe this is entirely acceptable! Fibre mostly helps to move and eliminate the heavy foods we consume by encouraging peristalsis in the intestines and by subtly scraping the digestive tract walls of build up. You do not need fibre while consuming a liquid meal, because there are no dense solids clogging the pipes.
What about SUGAR?
We never add processed sugar to our juices. We stand by the belief that the naturally occurring sugars in fruits and veggies play an important role in the process of detoxification, and to nourish the muscles and the brain. The polysaccharides (sugars) contained in vegetables even support the immune system! When naturally present sugars are ingested, they come along with trace amount of fibre and the vitamins and minerals that support their most beneficial usage. We like to add fruits like pears, apples and pineapple to our green drinks to make them delicious. After all... the best vegetables are ones that you will ingest! Why raw "cold pressed"?
Raw foods contain all of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, protein and enzymes nature intended to be in food. When we heat foods above 42 C/108°F, many nutrients, antioxidants, and phytochemicals are destroyed. Protein content is reduced, and delicate oils are damaged. Eating more raw food is a delicious and easy way to include more energizing, extremely nutrient dense food into your everyday life.
Benefits of Juicing:
- 95% of the nutrition of fruits and vegetables is found in the juice!
- Fresh, raw juice is loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients to help support the body to release toxins, reduce inflammation, heal and energize from within
- Juicing removes most of the insoluble fibre and does most of the digestive work for you. This allows the body to easily absorb concentrated nutrition while resting. It also allows those with digestive problems to absorb more nutrients that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to optimally break down.
